INFANT BOY ABANDONED AT CHURCH

Authorities in two counties are searching for the parents of a week-old baby boy who was found abandoned on the steps of a church near the Stafford County line.

A Fauquier County man who lived nearby discovered the child wrapped in a linen blanket at the Grace Methodist Church about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Fauquier County Sheriff Joe Higgs said.

The baby, a white male with dirty blond hair, apparently was born at home because he had none of the pediatric care or shots routinely given at a hospital, authorities said. The child was in good condition Thursday at a foster home in Fauquier County. - Associated Press
