STORM COMING TO PULASKI, BUT IT'S ONLY A PRACTICE RUN
Hurricane Zelda will hit Pulaski County on March 16, bringing rains of 4 to 6 inches in four hours, 90-mph winds, flash flooding and power failures.Luckily, it won't be real. It's an emergency services exercise to see how things would go if such a hurricane did come through.
The federal and state exercise will involve Zelda's hitting the East Coast, and all Pulaski County emergency departments are being asked to participate.
A shelter will be set up March 17 at Pulaski County High School. A government class will assist in providing "victims" and "evacuees." A March 20 debriefing will cover what went right and wrong with the exercise.
