HILL TOP BOWLER ROLLS 300 GAME
Kenny Harris of Roanoke bowled the first sanctioned 300 game of his career Friday night at Hill Top Lanes.Harris added a pair of strikes to start the third game before leaving a 7-pin, so he had 14 strikes in a row. He finished with a 256 in the third game and had a 207 in the first for a 763 series, another personal best in sanctioned play.
While the 300 was exciting, Harris wasn't overwhelmed.
"It feels pretty good," he said, "but, to be honest, it's probably not as big a thrill to me as it is for some people. I've shot 300s before, but not in a sanctioned league."
Harris, an auto paint and body mechanic, is a right-hander who throws a backup ball. He bowls in the Singer Mixed League. - Staff report
