ROBERTSON LEADS BYRD WIN OVER NORTH CROSS
David Robertson scored 20 points and William Byrd buried North Cross with a 10-0 run midway through the fourth quarter for a 76-58 non-district boys' basketball victory Friday night.The Raiders (9-10) pulled to 54-51 with five minutes remaining, but William Byrd (7-6) scored 10 straight.
Brian Young scored 14 and Scott Kelly 13 for Byrd.
Mike Bryan had 16 to lead North Cross and Marcus Cardwell finished with 15.

SOUTH BOSTON - The Comets used full-court pressure to erase a 13-point deficit and rally for a non-district win over Cave Spring.
The Knights (8-7) led 57-44 after three quarters before being outscored 28-9 in the fourth quarter.
Jermaine Waller scored 20 of his 22 points in the second half and was 8-of-8 on free throws in the fourth quarter. Terrence Jennings added 15, Calvin Slayton 11 and Aaron Brand 10 for Halifax (12-3).
Kerry Whitt led Cave Spring with 22 points and Jason Lavinder added 18, all on 3-pointers. \

BUENA VISTA - The Highlanders stayed a half-game behind Pioneer District-leading Bath County with a come-from-behind victory over the Fighting Blues.
Steve Ashworth scored 15 points to lead Glenvar (9-3, 9-3), which trailed after each of the first three quarters. Jason Baker had 15 points and Lesley Gray added 14 for Parry McCluer (5-8, 4-7).
Jason Baker, Gray and Chuck Baker had 38 of 39 points for Parry McCluer.

NATURAL BRIDGE - The Knights rallied in the fourth quarter to knock the Rockets in a Pioneer District game.
Jody Streger scored 15 points, Solan Wooden 14 and Ryan Shotwell 12 for James River (9-5, 9-3), which outscored the Rockets 22-14 in the final quarter.
Joey Carter and Kenny Lewis scored 14 each for Natural Bridge, and Marty Early chipped in with 12. \

MONTEREY - Bradley Hull made a 3-pointer with about seven seconds left to lift the Rams (3-11, 3-10) to a Pioneer District victory over the Rockets (2-12, 2-10).
Trailing 61-60, Highland got the last lead in a back-and-forth game. The teams entered the fourth quarter tied at 41, but Craig County took a four-point lead before the Rams rallied.
Shawn Harvey scored 25 and Micah Ginn added 19 for Highland. David McPherson scored 25 for Craig County, with Mark Crawford chipping in 17. \
