Law firm names new partner

DEBORAH WOOD DOBBINS has been named a partner in the firm of Gilmer, Sadler, Ingram, Sutherland & Hutton in Pulaski. She specializes in workers compensation and labor law and is president of the Pulaski County Bar Association. Prior to joining the firm in 1984, she was a law clerk for the United States District Court, Eastern District of Virginia.

Rowe Furniture Corp. has announced election of new officers for its subsidiary corporation, Rowe Furniture Corp. in Virginia. They are: WILDON H. ADKINS, vice president of upholstery design; BRUCE M. BIRNBACH, vice president of merchandising; RAYMOND W. CRAMPTON, vice president of management information systems; K.E. BENTZ, vice president; B.F. CAMPBELL, vice president; T.I. GRAHAM, vice president of manufacturing; T.V. SPRADLING, vice president of personnel; W.C. DUNBAR JR., vice president of Salem Frame Co.; and JACK G. HEATON, assistant vice president of Rowe Furniture Corp. in Missouri.

\ ORGANIZATIONS

\ STEPHEN A. HOOVER of Mastin, Kirkland, Bolling Inc. in Roanoke has been elected president of the Virginia Association of Realtors. EDWIN C. HALL of HallAssociates Inc., also of Roanoke, has been elected first vice president.

The Salem-Roanoke County Chamber of Commerce has elected five new members to its board of directors. They are: RICHARD HATFIELD, McDonough Caperton Insurance; JUDY GRIESENBROCK, Snelling Personnel; RAY ROHRBRECHT, attorney at law; GARLAND LIFE, Roanoke County Schools; and STEVEN CARPENTER, Roanoke County Department of Parks and Recreation.

Officers for the Chamber for 1992 are DEANNA W. GORDON, president; STEVE SMELTZER, first vice president; and JUDY GRIESENBROCK, treasurer.

\ GALEN B. BRUBAKER, a dairy farmer in Franklin County, has been elected chairman of the board of directors of the Virginia Agribusiness Council.

\ FRANKLYN H. MORENO of Dublin has been elected chairman of The Virginia Team, a group of economic development organizations from across the state. He is the marketing director for the New River Valley Economic Development Alliance.

\ SERVICES

\ ROBERT T. BIGGS has been named manager of distribution for Kroger's Mid-Atlantic marketing area. In addition to managing Kroger's distribution center in Salem and the satellite distribution center in Charleston, W.Va., he will oversee the operating and maintenance of Kroger's truck fleet assigned to the centers that supplies 114 stores in six states. He succeeds J. PATRICK DORAN who has retired from the Kroger Co. after 32 years.

Doran was manager of distribution for Kroger in Cleveland, Ohio; Indianapolis, Ind.; and Fort Wayne, Ind.

\ KAREN E. SCHENCK has been appointed postmaster in Lynchburg. She joined the Postal Service in 1974 as a clerk in Suffolk and most recently was postmaster in Salisbury, N.C.
