NUCKOLS, MARTHA H.

Martha Hite Nuckols, 72, died Friday in Stonewall Jackson Hospital. She was born June 4, 1919, in Buena Vista, a daughter of the late John William and Emma Virginia Nole Hite. She was the widow of Andy Nuckols. She is survived by three daughters, Rose Marie Carter of Roanoke; Kathleen Goff of Big Island and Barbara Shifflett of Natural Bridge Station; three sons, Leonard P. Nuckols of Wooster, Ohio; Maynard L. and Andy D. Nuckols, Jr., both of Buena Vista; one sister, Mae B. Turner of Buena Vista; one brother, Roy Hite of Westville, Fla.; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a special niece and nephew, Linda Gregory of Buena Vista and Robert A. Long of Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 3 from the Lomax Funeral Chapel with Randolph Hare officiating. Burial will follow in Glasgow Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 on Sunday night at the Lomas Funeral Home.
