SCORE INCREASING VOLUNTEER STAFF

The Service Corps of Retired Executives is increasing its volunteer counselor staff and its workshop schedule and needs the public's help.

The free business counseling service, sponsored by the Small Business Administration, offers consultation to people who are thinking about starting a business, as well as to those who own existing small businesses.

Areas of discussion range from capitalization, marketing and cash flow to record keeping, business planning and human resources activities. SCORE also gives advice about Small Business Administration loans.

There will be a Roanoke chapter workshop Feb. 12 at the Roanoke Valley Graduate Center, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. To register, call 703-983-0717.

A similar workshop is planned for Montgomery County in mid-March.
