LUCAS, CLYDE W.

Clyde William Lucas, 97, died Wednesday morning in a Blacksburg hospital. Born in Pembroke, he was the son of the late Emory and Virginia Jones Lucas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Atkins Lucas. He is survived by a stepson, Arthur A. Atkins, Jr., Pembroke; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Mable A. Smith, Pembroke; and Mrs. Gladys A. Price of Christiansburg, with whom he made his home; thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and three special young friends, Cathy, Lauren and Richard. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home, Pembroke. Burial will be in Birchlawn Burial Park, Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 to 9:00.
