FOR THE RECORD
ClarificationA story about Liberty University on Sunday could have left the erroneous impression that Congress had taken final action on a bill that will allow students in external-degree programs, such as Liberty's School of Life-Long Learning, to be eligible for certain federal loans and grants.
Congress has not yet approved the legislation, but the Department of Education has ceased administration action against 342 such schools from which it had been seeking repayment of loans.
