JOYNES, JANIE L.

BEDFORD - Janie Louise Joynes, age 85, of 809 Helms Street, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 1992, in Bedford County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Roanoke on March 3, 1906, a daughter of the late John Marsico and Laura Parnell Marsico. Her husband was the late George Joynes. She was a retired grocery story clerk cashier and a member of Bedford Baptist Church. She is survived by two sisters, Thelma Mullens, Roanoke; Elizabeth Scatchard, Birdsboro, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. from Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford by Dr. Ron Blankenship. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Fair View Cemetery, Roanoke. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
