Mod-U-Kraf HomesMod-U-Kraf Homes Inc. of Rocky Mount reported Thursday it had a net loss of $47,827 last year, compared with net income of $218,700 in 1990. Sales for the maker of modular houses, offices and commercial buildings dropped 26 percent to $4.8 million from $6.5 million. Fourth-quarter net income was $45,121, up from a loss of $107,120 a year earlier. Sales for the last quarter were $1.4 million, up from $1.1 million a year ago. Directors declared a regular quarterly dividend of 3 cents a share, payable March 4 to stockholders on Feb. 19.
\ Waste Management
Waste Management Inc., an Oak Brook, Ill., waste collector and processor, on Thursday reported 1991 income before a special charge at $787.3 million, or $1.60 per share, up 11 percent from $709.3 million, or $1.49 per share, in 1990. Full-year revenue rose 25 percent to $7.6 billion from $6 billion a year earlier.
Fourth-quarter income before special charge was $207.5 million, or 42 cents per share, up 6 percent from $195.6 million, or 40 cents per share, a year earlier. Revenue in the quarter climbed to $2 billion from $1.9 billion in 1991.
\ Fieldcrest Cannon
Fieldcrest Cannon Inc. on Thursday reported sales in the fourth quarter of 1991 of $343.0 million, up 2 percent from $337.9 million a year earlier, and net income of $2.4 million, or 23 cents per share, compared to a loss of $25.9 million, or $2.49 per share.
Net income for 1991 was $3.2 million, or 30 cents per share, compared to a net loss of $37.8 million, or $3.64 per share, in 1990. Sales for the year were down 2.4 percent to $1.2 billion.
