`SIGN OF THE SUN' GIRL SCOUT WORKSHOP

Junior Girl Scouts from Blacksburg and five surrounding units will participate in a "Sign of the Sun" workshop Feb. 15, 12:30-5:30 p.m. at Blacksburg Recreation Center. Alisa Bates and Anne Elise Thomas, Blacksburg High seniors, are organizers. They are working on their Girl Scout Gold awards and will have 15 stations set up inside and outside the recreation center. Participants will complete projects toward fulfilling three requirements for five different badges on "Sign of the Sun" projects. These projects are on health and nature activities and include such categories as hiking, wildlife and first aid.
