NEED ACTION ON HEAD-LICE PROBLEM

HEAD LICE in the schools is not just a problem for a few of us parents. It takes everyone working on it to stop the lice.

I'm tired of extra washings and cleaning things and shampooing heads just to send them back to school to get more lice.

My 6-year-old daughter's school had a meeting recently on the problem and only about 10 parents showed up; this school has around 600 kids.

The teachers have a hard time trying to teach and having to check for head lice. So, Mr. Tota, why don't you spend some money on getting a full-time nurse for each school to help with the problem? God knows, we pay enough taxes for it. GERALDINE D. PHILLIPS ROANOKE
