GARDNER, DAVID A.

David Arthur Gardner, age 18 of Roanoke, died Thursday. He was preceded in death by his father, Burnes Daryl Gardner. Surviving is his mother, Rebecca Rogers Gardner; one brother, James Daryl Gardner; one sister and brother-in-law, Anne Gardner Dye and Donald Lee Dye, all of Roanoke; maternal grandmother, Lola H. Rogers of Claypool Hill; paternal grandmother, Gladys H. Gardner of Norton; one nephew, Christopher Dye. Services will be from Oakey's South Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. John Cochran will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Schwartz, Brian Thompson, Ryan Taylor, Zach Ward, Tri Tu, Tom Blankenship, Trey Phillips, Mike Ergle, Ethan Greer, Chris Vineyard, Jason Lavander, Ward Bailey, Brian Manich, Chris Hudgins, and Jeff Bartlett. Immediately following services in Roanoke, the remains will be moved to the Hurst-Scott Funeral home in Richlands, Va. Graveside services will be in Green Hills Cemetery at Richlands 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel after 11:00 a.m. Saturday until service time and in the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday.
