PARNELL, GLENN R.

Mr. Glenn R. Parnell, age 73, of 273 Lyons Circle, passed away at his home Friday. Born in Carroll County, Va., July 16, 1918, he was the son of the late John Wesley Parnell and Lauena Myers Parnell. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruth A. Parnell; two sons, David Parnell, Hillsville; Kenneth Parnell, Hillsville; a daughter, Mrs. John (Glenda) Gardner, Hillsville; three sisters, Mrs. Goldie Austin, Austinville; Mrs. Sadie Crigger, Austinville; Mrs. Oma Jones, Hillsville; a stepson, M.E. (Mickey) Poole Jr., Leesburg; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Sandra Phipps, Danville; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Hillsville, with the Rev. Dixie Bauman officiating. Interment will follow in the Parnell Cemetery. Arrangements by Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville.
