HALL, JAMES C.

James Carl Hall, age 91, of 122 Reed Creek Drive, Bassett, died Friday at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. Born in Mt. Airy, N.C., April 4, 1900, he was a son of the late Reverdy Charlie Hall and Mary Virginia Shelton Hall. He retired from Fieldcrest Mills and was a member of Fieldale Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Verlie Joyce Hall; a daughter, Edith H. McEntire, Chapel Hill, N.C.; two sons, James Burton Hall, South Bend, Ind.; Robert C. (Husky) Hall, Martinsville; a stepdaughter, Jane Sharpe, Stuart, a stepson, William C. Joyce Sr., Collinsville; stepmother, Mary Hall, Cana; seven sisters, Nettie Bryant, Fieldale; Ruth Cox, Greensboro, N.C.; Bertha Thomas and Alma Enfield, both of Cana; Alice Sechrist, Virginia Beach; Joyce Chappel and Susan Mallard, both of Virginia; three brothers, John Hall and A.C. Hall, both of Collinsville; Thomas Hall, Bedford; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Collins Funeral Chapel, Bassett, with the Rev. Richard Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Memorial Hospital of Martinsville/Henry County.
