JOHN WAYNE INSTEAD OF HOCKEY

On Jan. 18, WSLS-TV was supposed to telecast the NHL All-Star Game. This gamehad been advertised for days and also was listed in the Roanoke paper to come onat 1 p.m. Saturday. Instead, we were treated to a very boring "Stuntmasters" anda John Wayne movie I'm sure we've all seen on the late show every year since he passed away.

Here in Roanoke we see very little hockey as it is. And I know it's not for everyone, but neither is "Knots Landing." We look forward to seeing a game when it's been scheduled. DAVID NUNLEY
