MARION WRESTLERS 2ND IN HIGHLANDS DISTRICT

Eight Marion wrestlers advanced to the finals and three won titles Saturday as the Scarlet Hurricane finished a close second to Abingdon in the Highlands District wrestling tournament at Virginia High.

Marion's Andy Battaglia, the runner-up in the 125-pound division, was named the district's Wrestler of the Year. Scarlet Hurricane coach Steve Wright was name Co-Coach of the Year along with Abingdon's Mark Martin.
