OBIT TYREE, L.

TYREE, LEONARD S.

Leonard Stuart Tyree, age 97, died Wednesday in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Rockbridge County on September 4, 1894, a son of the late George and Virginia Clark Tyree. He was a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Clark Tyree and three children, Philander Tyree, Glenn Tyree and Martha Sorrells. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Ann T. Smith of Locust Hill; Mrs. Isabel T. Robertson of Roanoke; Mrs. Juanita T. Andrew of Lynchburg; Mrs. Nellie T. Cash of Buena Vista; three sons, Lindsey W. Tyree, Herman J. Tyree and Early W. Tyree, all of Buena Vista; 30 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from Lomax Funeral Chapel at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14, with the Rev. Bruce Clark and the Rev. Conald Fogus officiating. Burial will follow in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Lomax Funeral Home, Buena Vista.
