BLANTON TO BE CHAMBER PRESIDENT

Pat Cupp, owner of BCR Property Management and Real Estate, steps down as president of the Greater Blacksburg Chamber of Commerce on March 1.

He will be replaced by Mike Blanton, publisher of the Montgomery County News Messenger.

Cupp said the chamber board has interviewed several applicants for executive director, and should choose one by the end of February.

Arnold Saari resigned as director in November, the fifth person to leave the job in three years.

Sandra Stanwitz, business and marketing manager, is acting director.
