VA. BEACH ORDERS WATER CONSERVATION
Mandatory water conservation measures and limits on hookups for new construction have been approved by the City Council to cope with a limited water supply until the Lake Gaston pipeline is completed. The measures approved Tuesday marked the third time that mandatory water restrictions have been imposed in the past decade in Virginia Beach.
The measures mean some people with well water will not be able to get city water as soon as expected and such things as washing cars and watering lawns will be limited.
The long-delayed pipeline from Lake Gaston on the Virginia-North Carolina border is not expected to be finished for at least four years. - Associated Press
