BUCHANAN - Mr. Robert James (Joe) Watkins, age 87, died Wednesday, February 12, 1992. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mallie Watkins; one brother, Mr. Earl Watkins, Philadelphia, Pa.; one grandson, Leon Hewlett, Bronx, N.Y.; one great-granddaughter, Chadik Hewlett, Bronx, N.Y.; one son-in-law, Lee Hewlett, Bronx, N.Y.; four sisters-in-law, Mrs. Pearl Watkins, Philadelphia, Pa.; Mrs. Mabel Burks, Buchanan; Mrs. Aretha Reid, Fayetteville, N.C.; Mrs. Carlotta Penn, Roanoke; one brother-in-law, Mr. Curtis Thomas, Philadelphia, Pa.; a special niece, Louise Sledd, Glasgow; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 15, 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald K. Clayborne officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery. A wake will be held Friday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Rader Funeral Home, Buchanan.
