RVD WRESTLING TOURNAMENT THIS SATURDAY

The Roanoke Valley District wrestling tournament will be held Saturday at William Fleming High School, tournament director Doug DePuy said Wednesday.

Weigh-ins begin at 10 a.m., and the first round starts at noon. Semifinals will be held at approximately 1:30 p.m., with consolation finals at 6 and championships at 7:30.

For the first time, the district also will hold a junior varsity tournament, with matches coinciding with the varsity competition.

The top four wrestlers in each varsity weight division will qualify for the Northwestern Region tournament the following weekend at Franklin County High School. - Staff report
