FATHER, SON CHARGED WITH MOLESTING CHILDREN
Police charged a father and son Thursday with molesting preschool children at a private day-care center over a period of 13 years.
An investigation of nearly a year ended about 8:30 a.m. Thursday when Wallace R. Crocker Sr., 66, was arrested on the street in front of Smithfield Baptist Church where he is a member. His son, David B. Crocker, 23, was driven to town from his cell in Staunton Correctional Center to face additional charges.
Wallace Crocker faces three counts of aggravated sexual battery against victims who are now ages 15 to 21. David Crocker, convicted in 1991 of sodomizing three preschool boys, faces 13 more charges ranging from rape to abduction and sodomy.
Father and son are scheduled to appear in Isle of Wight Circuit Court next Wednesday to have trial dates set.
