PH SWEEPS RVD INDOOR TRACK TITLES

Patrick Henry swept the boys' and girls' Roanoke Valley District indoor track championships Friday night in Virginia Tech's Rector Field House.

James Williams led the Patriots boys' team by winning the high jump and the triple jump and placing second in the 55-meter hurdles. He also was on the winning 800-relay team.

Cave Spring's Tiki Barber won the long jump and the 300, and teammate Jason Dowdy was first in the 1,600 and 3,200.

In girls' competition, Monica Cabbler of William Fleming won the long jump and the triple jump and was a member of the first-place 1,600-relay team.

Cave Spring's Erin Layne won the 1,600 and 3,200 runs.

The top six finishers in each event advance to the Northwestern Region meet next Saturday at VMI. - Staff report
