FRYE, EMELENE H.Emelene H. Cannaday Frye, age 84, of Salem, passed away Monday, February 17, 1992 in a Salem hospital. She was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John E. Cannaday, Sr.; and Leonard Oliver Frye; also a grandson, Daniel Bryan Cannaday; and a great-grandson, Benjamin Oliver Martin. Surviving are a son, John E. Cannaday, Jr.; two daughters, Lynette G. Frye and Imojean F. Martin; son-in-law, Sherman Martin; grandchildren, John E. Cannaday, III of Los Angeles, Calif.; William S. Martin, Jr. of Roanoke; granddaughter, Dawn M. Stanley of Salem; three great-grandsons, Daniel James Cannaday of Los Angeles, Calif.; Edsel Dale Stanley, III and William Andrew Stanley, both of Salem; one sister, Edna H. Thomas of Roanoke. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 19 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lotz Salem Chapel with the Rev. Billy White officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Lotz Salem Chapel from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
