CHRISTIANSBURG TOWN COUNCIL

Town Council will meet tonight in the Municipal Building in Christiansburg beginning at 7:30 to discuss the Two Town Trolley route, the bingo ordinance and a carnival request.

Town Manager John Lemley would not say whether the street committee recommendation on the Two Town Trolley bus route between Christiansburg and Blacksburg is for a changed route, for an expansion or for a shorter route.

"I'd rather hold off until council is made aware of what the committee wants to do," Lemley said Monday. "They don't know any more than what's on the agenda."

There will be a citizen hearing on a Kiwanis Club request for a conditional-use permit to hold the club's annual carnival at New River Valley Mall. Council will take action following Planning Commission recommendations.

And Lemley said he will report on the bingo ordinance, which needs clarification.

Other agenda items include:

Planning Commission recommendations and council action on Diamond Crest subdivision rezoning and a conditional-use permit for Dr. Stephen Davie.

Town manager reports on a suggested sign-ordinance amendment and bids for a town ambulance.

Executive session to discuss personnel matters.
