ELECTRIC: Van Halen, the big-name metal band, will fill the Roanoke Civic Center coliseum with its distinctive tones Wednesday night at 7:30.

Special guests will be Baby Animals.

\ SHOWTIME: "Barnum," the three-ring circus musical about P.T. Barnum's rise to fame, comes to Burruss Hall at Virginia Tech on Tuesday night at 7:30.

It's said to be a dazzling display of color, music and dance, with clowns, acrobats, jugglers and bands of all sizes, shapes and descriptions.
