VA. INTERMONT LIBRARIAN WILL HEAD CONSORTIUM

Milton Stevenson, head librarian at Virginia Intermont College, has been elected president of the Southwest Virginia Information Network Group for 1992-93.

The group is a consortium of 70 library systems serving Southwest Virginia and East Tennessee. It was set up to enhance library service through cooperation.

It also files joint applications for various kinds of funding grants, reduces costs through group purchasing, offers opportunities for professional staff development and lobbies for library issues. - Southwest bureau
