FALWELL GETS READY FOR ABORTION FIGHT

Should the U.S. Supreme Court overturn Roe vs. Wade, the Rev. Jerry Falwell says he wants to be ready to lobby Congress against legislation that would give women access to abortions.

"We don't want to be caught off guard," Falwell said.

Falwell said he would use his 6-year-old Liberty Alliance, a tax-exempt organization, to do the necessary fund-raising and lobbying.

The group was set up under IRS regulations that allow it to engage in political activity. Thus, all donations to the group are not tax deductible.
