CARROLL, FRANCES W.

Mrs. Frances Wertz Carroll, age 73, of Salem, died Friday, February 21, 1992. She was a Charter member of Bethel Baptist Church in Salem. She was the daughter of the late Archie D. and Mamie L. Wertz. She was preceded in death by a brother, C. Dillard Wertz. Mrs. Carroll is survived by her beloved husband of 57 1/2 years, Matt M. Carroll; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Eldridge Richards; Ann and Mason Boyd; one son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Phyllis Carroll; six grandchildren, Melinda Dillon, Lee Boyd, Kevin Boyd, Karen Boyd, Cathy Lineberry, Cameron Carroll; one great-granddaughter, Megan Lineberry; three brothers, Herman E. Wertz; Willie M. Wertz; and Glenn R. Wertz. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at Bethel Baptist Church in Salem, with Rev. R. Stuart Carlton officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church or the Salem Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem.
