JOHNSTON, SARAH B.

Sarah Masel Buchanan Johnston, age 90, died Friday, February 21, 1992, in Montgomery Regional Hospital. Mrs. Johnston was born in Giles County on May 5, 1901, and was a daughter of the late Tyler H. and Fannie Robertson Buchanan. She was a life long member of Wesleys Chapel United Methodist Church and a member of the Wabash Rebecca Lodge. She was the widow of Shuler J. Johnston. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Glen (Frances) Allen of Pearisburg; Mrs. J. Doak (Alma) Lucas of Newport; two sons, S. James Johnston of Roanoke; Clinton S. Johnston of Blacksburg; a foster daughter, Mrs. Danny Johnston of Eggleston; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three foster grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, February 23, 1992, at 2:00 p.m. in the Givens Funeral Chapel, Pearisburg, with private entombment to follow in the Birchlawn Abbey, Pearisburg. Friends may call at the Givens Funeral Home Saturday 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Women or the Giles Life Saving and Rescue Squad.
