AYYILDIZ-MANUEL
Elisabeth Linn Manuel and Kent Ayyildiz were married October 19, 1991, at
Rocklands Estate, Gordonsville, Va., with Mr. Wayne Arneson officiating. The
bride was given away by her father. The maid of honor was Ms. Karen Perihan
Ayyildiz of Roanoke. The bridesmaids were Suzan Bulbulkaya of Williamsburg;
Ms. Christina Rutkaus of Lessburg and Ms. Laura Shortridge, Olympia, W. Va.
The best man was Kevin Kamal Ayyildiz of Roanoke. The ushers included Thomas
Penn, Charlottesville, Va.; Arthur Garst, Jr., Roanoke; and Alex Slater,
Stonington, Conn. The bride wore a peau de soie and alencon lace gown with off
the shoulder neckline and elbow length sleeves. She carried a cascade of
heathers, statice, roses and stephanotis. The bride is the daughter of Dr.
Thomas Manuel of Allentown, Pa., and Mrs. Kent Simons of New Vernon, N. J. She
graduated from the University of Virginia and will attend John Marshall School
of Law, Chicago, Ill., in the fall. The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Vedii
Ayyildiz of Roanoke. He graduated from North Cross School and the University
of Richmond; he has an M. A. from Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey. He
will attend Columbia Film School in Chicago in the fall. The newlyweds will
make their home in Chicago.
