JOHNSTON, SARAH B.

Sarah Masel Buchanan Johnston, age 90, died Friday, February 21, 1992, in Montgomery Regional Hospital. Mrs. Johnston was born in Giles County on May 5, 1901, and was a daughter of the late Tyler H. and Fannie Robertson Buchanan. She was a life long member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Woman and a member of the Wabash Rebecca Lodge. She was the widow of Shuler J. Johnston. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Glen (Frances) Allen, Pearisburg; Mrs. J. Doak (Alva) Lucas of Newport; two sons, S. James Johnston of Roanoke; Clinton S. Johnston, Blacksburg; a foster daughter, Mrs. Danny Johnston, Eggleston; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three foster grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, February 23, 1992, at 2:00 p.m. in the Givens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Warren Stewart officiating with private entombment to follow in the Birchlawn Abbey, Pearisburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Women or the Giles Lifesaving and Rescue Squad. The family will receive froends at the residence of Mrs. Frances Allen at 400 Caston Road, Pearisburg.
