PARENT DRINKING SURVEY CALLED INAPPROPRIATE
School officials said a questionnaire that asked students about their parents' drinking habits was a mistake.A Robertson Elementary School guidance counselor circulated the survey to help identify children who might have problems at home.
"We thought that the survey that was given was inappropriate," Assistant Superintendent Parris Carson said. "We have made adjustments to make sure that these type of surveys are not issued again."
Carson said principals will screen materials before they go to students. He said the counselor has been disciplined, but he would not say how.
Parents complained that the survey invaded their privacy. - Associated Press
