OBIT RUDOLPH, R.
RUDOLPH, RACHEL M. Mrs. Rachel M. Rudolph, died Sunday, February 23, 1992
at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church,
a graduate of Ohio State University in Musical Education, and had been a
school teacher of music in Columbus, Ohio, before moving to Roanoke in 1940.
Mrs. Rudolph was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, both in school and as an
active alumni of that organization. She was also a member of the Delta Omicron
International Musicians Fraternity. In the past she was active with the
Roanoke Choral Society and served as organist at St. Elizabeth's Church in
Roanoke. Surviving are her husband, Dr. R. R. Rudolph; daughter, Mrs. Esther
Rudolph Rieley, Roanoke; sons, Harry A. Rudolph and wife Joy, Centerville,
Va.; Richard E. Rudolph and wife Robin, Roanoke; Thomas E. Rudolph and wife
Elizabeth, Wendell, N.C.; granddaughters, Jennifer E. Rudolph, Blacksburg;
Ariel Rudolph, Wendell, N.C.; grandson, Benjamin Rudolph, Wendell, N.C.;
sister, Margaret Weintz, nephew, Earl A. Jacobson and wife Mattie, both of
Columbus, Ohio. Memorials in Mrs. Rudolph's memory may be made to St. John's
Episcopal Church. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday
at St. John's Episcopal Church by the Rev. Thomas P. O'dell. Arrangements by
Oakey's Roanoke.
