HOLLINS WINS ODAC SWIM MEET

Hollins College ended Washington and Lee's four-year dominance in women's swimming by capturing the Old Dominion Athletic Conference title on Sunday.

The meet was held in conjunction with the Atlantic States Championships, which Radford won.

W&L junior Claire Dudley set a school record in the 200-yard breast stroke with a time of 2:30.46 and qualified for the Division III National Championships. Dudley won three individual championships and was a member of four winning relay teams. She was named the Atlantic States swimmer of the year.

W&L's Jodi Herring won the 100 and 200-yard butterfly competitions and was chosen the ODAC swimmer of the Year.

Hollins, which won its first-ever ODAC swimming title, became the first school other than Sweet Briar or W&L to win the ODAC crown. Washington and Lee finished second. \
