SMITH, VELTIE R. Mrs. Veltie Inez Reed Smith, age 64 of Roanoke, died Monday. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert James Freeman and was the widow of Aubrey Lewis Smith. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Peggy Freeman, Salem; her daughter, Sandra G. Freeman, Providence, R. I.; mother, Mrs. Velma W. Reed; brothers, Walter, Donald, Harvey, Denton and Major Reed; sisters, Barbara Dulaney and Glada Lucadoo; grandchildren, Tammy Freeman; Shannon Sarracino; Sherri Sarracino; Ronette Porecca; Ricky Freeman; mother-in-law, Madeline White; three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon, Wednesday, at the White Rock Church of the Brethren with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Lotz Funeral Home, Roanoke.
