2ND CANDIDATE ENTERS PULASKI COUNCIL RACE

A second candidate has declared his candidacy for one of the four Pulaski Town Council seats open in the Nov. 3 elections.

Elbert G. Black Jr., a retired Norfolk Southern Corp. employee and National Business College graduate, is a lifelong Pulaski resident. He has worked with Pulaski Daily Bread and other civic groups. He retired from the railroad as a division chief after 28 years.

The first candidate to announce for Town Council was Roy D'Ardenne, a Radford Arsenal employee, earlier this month. Other potential candidates are known to be circulating petitions to get on the ballot.

Council members whose terms expire this year are Mary Lou Copenhaver, Alma Holston, James Neblett and J.R. Schrader. None of them has announced whether he or she will seek re-election.
