APPLICATIONS OFFERED FOR CRAFTS EXHIBITION

Applications are available for the 44th annual Virginia Highlands Festival's Arts and Crafts Exhibition to be held Aug. 1-16.

The deadline for artists and crafts people to submit applications is April 1. Application forms are available by calling 628-8141 or writing the Washington County Chamber of Commerce, c/o Virginia Highlands Festival, P.O. Box 801, Abingdon 24210.

The annual festival usually draws more than 150,000 people during its two weeks. It was organized in 1948 by Robert Porterfield, founder of Barter Theatre, and is planned each year by a volunteer board of more than 100 members.
