TECH SIGNEE MAKES GRADE
Virginia Tech football signee Lenarick Thomas of Fort Myers, Fla., said Wednesday that he has met NCAA academic qualifications for freshman eligibility.Thomas said he received his Scholastic Aptitude Test score Monday and scored better than 700. His grade-point average, he said, is well above the 2.0 minimum. He said he plans to enroll at Tech in time for summer school.
Thomas, 6 feet 1 and 187 pounds, is the brother of Tech redshirt freshman Dwayne Thomas. A safety, he had 48 tackles, seven interceptions and three fumble recoveries as a senior at Bishop Verot High School.
