DOWNTOWN CHURCH PLANS MIDDAY LENTEN SERVICES
Seven midday Wednesday services for the downtown Roanoke area will begin next week on Ash Wednesday at Greene Memorial United Methodist Church, 402 Second St. S.W. They will begin at 12:05 and will be followed in the fellowship hall by a luncheon costing $2.50.Speakers will be: Wednesday, the Rev. David Yingling, Central Church of the Brethren; March 11, the Rev. Carl Naro, St. Andrew's Catholic; March 19, the Rev. Helen Casey-Rutland, Belmont United Methodist; March 25, the Rev. Gregory L. Adkins, Raleigh Court United Methodist; April 1, the Rev. Jim Rivers, First Christian (Disciples of Christ); April 8, the Rev. Nicholas Bacalis, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox; and April 15, the Rev. James DeFoe, Calvary Baptist.
Church benefit fair needs crafts people
Crafts people are needed to display and sell their wares at a craft show to be held May 16 at Faith Alliance Church, 7505 Barrens Road.
