UNDERWOOD, FRED D.

WALKERTOWN, N.C. - Mr. Fred Davis Underwood, of 6754 Eldred Road, Walkertown, died Wednesday, February 26, 1992, at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. Mr. Underwood was born in Patrick County Virginia, on July 30, 1938, to Ruth Hylton Underwood, Christiansburg, and the late Walter H. Underwood. He was a maintenance manager with USAir and attended Morris Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Anne Hancock Underwood, of the home; three sons, Todd Underwood, Winston-Salem; Drew Underwood, Walkertown; Neil Underwood, of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Jay (Julia Ann) Christopher, Katy, Texas; Mrs. Jimmy (Becky) Thomas, Radford, Va.; and one uncle, John W. Underwood, Martinsville, Va. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 29, 1992, 2:00 p.m., at Morris Chapel United Methodist Church by Rev. Tom Gibson and Rev. Fred Gilley. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Vogler and Sons Kernersville Chapel. The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 1900 Hawthorne Road, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27103, or Brenner Children's Hospital, 300 Hawthorne Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
