TOP-QUALITY SCHOOLS FOR LITTLE MONEY?

I AM TIRED of people such as Herbert Martin (letter, Feb. 15), who complain about educators requesting money, and in the same breath claim public schools are inferior. With people like him, we can't win.

Try to find a world where education is top quality, but runs on little or no money. If he finds it, I'll bet it is because he's died and gone to heaven. Now, it is time for me to do at least two to three hours of planning and paper-grading.

Oh, did I forget to mention this is Saturday, and this "greedy" schoolteacher isn't even getting paid for this? MARTHA SAYRE ROANOKE
