METHODIST GROUP SEEKS DONATIONS FOR RUSSIA
The United Methodist Committee on Relief is accepting donations to provide emergency food relief in Russia.Funds are being accepted by Grove and Dublin United Methodist churches.
The food, which includes flour, sugar, pasta, rice, canned meat, dehydrated soup, cooking oil, powdered milk, tea, fruit juice and chocolate bars, will be bought in bulk and packaged by the churches. Transportation will cost $1 per 36-pound box. Filling a box costs $42.25.
Donators are asked to enclose a postcard with your return address for the recipient of each box of supplies. Another postcard will be enclosed, explaining in Russian where the food came from.
Donations will be accepted through March 14. They can be sent to: Operation Soviet Emergency Food Lift, Grove United Methodist Church, 1020 Tyler Ave., Radford 24141, or Dublin United Methodist Church, 424 E. Main St., Dublin.
