GRAND JURY TO WIDEN PROBE OF HONAKER
A grand jury is expected to reconvene next month to determine if former Sheriff Marshall Honaker had accomplices in an alleged embezzlement scheme, sources told a Bristol newspaper.The Herald Courier of Bristol, quoting federal sources it did not identify, also said that estimates of the amount of money missing from the Sheriff's Department have been increased to more than $500,000.
Honaker, who never was charged with a crime, committed suicide Jan. 22 during a federal grand jury investigation.
The grand jury is expected to reconvene March 17.
