FLOYD, GRAYSON ADVANCE
Point guard Travis Crawford carried Floyd County to an early lead and the Buffaloes held on for a 69-59 victory in the semifinals of the Mountain Empire District tournament at Christiansburg High School on Friday night.Crawford scored 17 of his game-high 25 points in the first quarter. Fred Via finished with 14 and Jeremiah Slusher 11.
Floyd County (18-2) will play Grayson County for the tournament title tonight at 8.
Jeff Spells scored 19 points to lead Galax (14-6). Dirk Hill had 14 and Jason Ross 11.
In the other district semifinal:
\ Grayson County 75, Narrows 66: Grayson County made 30 free throws to shoot down the Green Wave and earn a berth to the Region C Tournament.
Grayson County (16-5) was led by Devin Floyd's 25 points. Mitch Hawks added 15 and Wilbert Campbell 11.
Kelly Lowe had 18 points, McCreey Mann 12 and Brian Evans 11 for Narrows.

\ Gateway Christian 73, Heritage Christian 71: At Richmond, David Arthur made a stickback with 13 seconds remaining as the Crusaders pulled out a semifinal victory in the Old Dominion Association of Church Schools state tournament.
Arthur finished with 18 points for Gateway (19-5), which will play for the championship this afternoon. Matt Linkous added 16, Sam Moore 12 and Tim Henderson 11. \
