HOLY CROSS OUSTS NORTH CROSS IN VIC

Vernon Patterson scored 17 points as Holy Cross got past North Cross 73-63 in the semifinals of the Virginia Independent Conference tournament Friday night at Lynchburg College.

Stewart Baucom led North Cross with 15 points. Marcus Cardwell added 14 points with 14 rebounds and Mike Bryan scored 14 points.

North Cross will face Lynchburg Christian tonight in the consolation final, and Holy Cross will take on Fishburne Military for the championship.

Fishburne knocked off LCA 67-62 in the other semifinal. \
