NO. 1 NORTH CAROLINA BLITZES RADFORD 26-3

Defending men's national champion North Carolina opened defense of its collegiate lacrosse title Saturday afternoon by wiping out Radford 26-3 at Fetzer Field.

Three players - Dan Donnelly, Rick Codd and Gavin Wynot - scored three goals apiece as the No. 1 ranked Tar Heels extended their winning streak to 17 games.

North Carolina led 10-0 after one quarter and 16-0 in the third before Radford's Steven Govett scored the first of his two goals to get the Highlanders on the board. Staff report
