HAGGAS POWERS TECH TO BASEBALL VICTORY

Josh Haggas slugged two home runs and drove in six runs as the Virginia Tech baseball team pounded UNC Greensboro 14-3 on Saturday.

In four plate appearances, Haggas was 2-for-2 with a pair of two-run homers, a run-scoring walk and a sacrifice fly. Senior second baseman David Dallas added four hits in five trips for the Hokies (2-0).

Tech starter Jamie Patteson pitched eight strong innings for the victory as Greensboro dropped to 4-3. The two teams will meet again today. - Staff
